Rangoli Making Competition
“Election Awareness –
Vote for Better India”
Rangoli is drawn in
different states with different names and on different themes. Be it Kollam in
Tamil Nadu, Sathiya in Gujarat, Alpana in Bengal, Mandana in Rajasthan, Osa in Odisha,
Aipan in Uttarakhand or simply the Rangoli from Maharashtra – every region has
its own unique way of representing their traditions, folklore and practices.
As per the directions
of Nodal Officer, Systematic Voters’ Enrollment and Participation (SVEEP) West
Delhi, our Institute has organized a “Rangoli Making Competition” on the theme of Election
Awareness – Vote for Better India on 18th March, 2024 (Monday). The objectives of the competition were:
·
Bridging the gender gap in enrolment and turnout.
·
Ensuring inclusion of all non-voters.
·
Addressing urban and youth apathy in electoral
participation.
All the departments
of the Institute enthusiastically participate in the competition. A total of 15
teams participated in the competition which made the diversity of our country
visible in these Rangolis. Chief Guest
to the competition was Ms. Priyanka Goel (IAS), Nodal Officer SVEEP, who
judged the participating teams.
A timeless and very important part of Indian
vibrant culture was found in the many hues of Rangolis prepared by our
Institute students. These were same as found at the entrance of almost every
Indian household and at every auspicious occasion of celebration.
