A student team from Guru Tegh Bahadur Institute of Technology, Rajouri Garden, New Delhi has won a prize of Rs. 50,000/- (Rupees fifty thousand only) in Smart India Hackathon-2022 which is World’s Biggest Open Innovation Model. Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the grand finale of Smart India Hackathon 2022 with more than 15,000 students and mentors are traveling to the 75 nodal centres to take part in the Smart India Hackathon (SIH) 2022 grand finale. In his address, the Prime Minister underlined the importance of Participative Governance to the participants of the Smart India Hackathon-2018. The team from GTBIT had won prize in a non-stop digital product development competition conducted by Government of India for two days 25th and 26th August, 2022 continuously. This is an effort from Government of India in celebrating glorious 75th years of India’s Independence with 75 Nodal Center of SIH2022. The students have got the opportunity to work on challenges faced within the private sector organizations and create world class solutions for some of the top companies in the world, thus helping the Private sector hire the best minds from across the nation. There were 3 teams from Guru Tegh Bahadur Institute of Technology which were shortlisted to participate in Grand Finale of SIH-2022. The result of Grand Finale was announced on 27th August, 2022. GTBIT has provided all the team members financial assistance to travel by Air to their respective Nodal Centers at Ranchi, Jharkhand; Nagpur, Maharashtra and Jaipur, Rajasthan. Also, students are provided with other related accessories like customized T-shirts and Standee as per guidelines from SIH team from Ministry of Education. The students would also have the opportunity to work on challenges faced within the private sector and create world class solutions for some of the top companies in the world, thus helping the Private sector hire the best minds across the nation.
All the team members who participated in Grand Finale of SIH-2022 were congratulated by S. Harmeet Singh Kalka, President and S. Jagdip Singh Kahlon, General Secretary of Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Committee. Chairman Sh. Amarjeet Singh, Manager Sh. Harjeet Singh and Director Dr. Rominder Kaur wished success to the students and asked them to believe in themselves to get success in life. At the occasion Dr. Simmi Singh, Examination-Incharge, Dr. Munshi Yadav, Dean; Dr. Aashish Bhardwaj, Head of Department (Computer Science & Engineering) and Mr. P. S. Bedi, Head of Department (Information Technology) were also present. This is a pride moment for Guru Tegh Bahadur Institute of Technology as well as for the management.
