On 2nd November 2022, B.Tech. EEE students visited Smart Grid Centre of NPTI Faridabad. They were introduced to simulators replicating the real-time integrated unit operations of thermal units, hydel units along with additional functionalities of SCADA and smart grid by experts from NPTI. Lot of information was shared with the students about smart energy meters, demand side management and upcoming roles/ job opportunities of electrical engineers in power industry along with smart distribution technologies that are to be implemented in the next few years. Students got a very good exposure of the actual simulation environment being used in the industries and also got a very good understanding of integrated operation of the power plant and power system.
