A session to commemorate Youth day was organised by GTBIRC and IIC at GTBIT on 12th January 2023. Mr. Akash Sethi, a Senior Software Engineer at Google and an alumni of GTBIT addressed the students. He talked about his journey- the challenges, the ups and the downs. Inspiring students to create projects and the importance of ideation, he talked about some of his best projects. Breaking down his semester by semester journey, he gave insights that helped everyone understand how to go about college and become a good Software Engineer. Covering important aspects of interview skills he gave us insightful tips to follow.
Moving from College life, Mr Akash covered his work experience as an SWE at Google Scholar and the importance of listing research articles. He then moved on to Data Structures and Algorithms- how to approach problems, the importance of coding platforms and how making the most out of labs is extremely crucial. The session concluded with answering the varied doubts covering topics like DSA, Engineering roles, pathway to pursue Master's, tips for curating a resume, projects that one should work on, internships etc. The session was extremely insightful and helped the attendees not only clear all their doubts but also get the motivation to go that extra bit and achieve everything they aspire to
