Women Empowerment on International Women's Day

Introduction
The Women Empowerment event was held on International Women's Day, March 9, 2023, and organized by GTBIRC and IIC@GTBIT. The purpose of the event was to celebrate the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women and to raise awareness about gender equality. The event featured Dr Suman Lal Tripathi, who talked about Women in Tech, Semiconductor Industry, and Green Technology, the pathway to publishing a research paper, and filing patents.
Speaker Profile
Dr. Suman Lal Tripathi is an accomplished scientist, researcher, and academician with over 21 years of experience in the field of semiconductor physics and devices. She currently works as a Professor in the School of Electronics and Electrical Engineering at Lovely Professional University She has published over 100 research papers in reputed international journals and has filed 13 Indian patents and 4 Copyrights. She received the "Research Excellence Award" in 2019 and "Research Appreciation Award" in 2020, and 2021.
Event Details
The event started at 10:00 AM with an introduction by the event coordinator. The coordinator welcomed the audience and introduced Dr. Tripathi. Dr. Tripathi started her talk by emphasizing the importance of women's participation in technology and science-related fields. She shared her personal experiences and challenges faced during her career in the semiconductor industry. She also talked about the gender gap in the tech industry and how women can overcome the barriers.
Dr. Tripathi highlighted the potential of Green Technology in addressing climate change and environmental sustainability.
