SWAAS, the Social Workers and Awakeners Society (The Eco-Technical Society of GTBIT), was established in 2009 to address social and natural issues. We've been using technology to drive change and promote sustainability. Society organizes events such as green school grounds, cleanliness drives, and book gift crusades to help the public. Our teachers in-charge manage the society, which has been instrumental in promoting student interest. SWAAS has also led successful events for local government assistance, such as the Covigo web project, which provided emergency clinic beds and oxygen chambers during the second Coronavirus pandemic in India. The society also hosts workshops and book drives, showcasing the collective efforts of its members. Society’s mission is to empower the public and contribute to their goals. But it's not just about responding to crises - we're also committed to community growth and development. We believe in empowering people and communities through donation drives, FlowYoga etc. Our goal is to create a better future for everyone, and we're excited to have you join us on this journey.
Swaas celebrated Women’s Day on 12th March with a vibrant event, Social Solstice, filled with fun and energy! The day began with a soulful Kirtan, followed by a movie guessing game and lively conversations. A standout moment was a surprise singing performance by a teacher and a quirky newspaper dance that had everyone laughing.
To honor the women, each attendee was welcomed with a handmade flower, a cute envelope with a greeting card, and a bracelet. Dr. Rominder Kaur, the Director, was felicitated with a beautiful handmade paper flower bouquet by Swaas Convener Dr. Manpreet Kaur and President Yogita, in recognition of her leadership and support.
